Building character
This week I received two calls from friends that were afraid about inevitable changes they would have to make in their lives.
I told them that I firmly believe that they shouldn’t be afraid of anything because we always end up attracting realities that match who we are.
“The Universe will match whatever vibration you put out. And you can’t fool The Universe”
Jen Sincero
So here is what I want you to think about: if your future is a match of who you are, your only mission, THE ONLY ONE, is: no matter what you keep moving forward that direction. Whatever life throws at you, you keep progressing towards that goal. Do we have a deal?
“Read this out loud: Progress, not perfection. From this moment forward, that’s all you strive for.”
Marie Forleo
But the reality is that whenever there is change, there is adaptation. And that means “bad days”. So today, I wanted to give you something to think about on days when things don’t go well.
The first thing I want to tell you is that the thing you fear now probably won’t affect you that much. Really. I’m not saying the change won’t hurt. It will. But perhaps it won’t hurt because of the reasons you are thinking about now. Or at least as much as you are projecting.
“There are very few monsters who warrant the fear we have of them”
André Gide
nfortunately, we don’t know ourselves or the world enough to make proper projections, so we might invest our time preparing in some other way.
Which way? By resignifying our stories.
I was watching a Les Brown video the other day, and he said something like: “There are no bad days. Just character-building days”.
Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson.
Give it a try. Write down some of your old (or new) fail stories. And ask yourself (also writing down): what have I learned or gained from it?
Les Brown also usually says: “it’s not over until I win”. And it won’t be over until you get exactly what your amazing energy is attracting to you: love, joy, and everything else that is good . Until then… let’s build some character! 😉

Keep in mind that success is NOT made of a series of right things. It is made of a chain of errors and mistakes that we transform into lessons. We end up – as Les Brown also says – failing our way into success.
